Hundreds of citizens try out for police department | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
MOORE, Okla.—Hundreds of men and women headed to the Moore Community Center Saturday in hopes of becoming a police officer.
The recruits were put through a physical agility test, which means they suffered through push-ups, sit ups and ran courses within a set time limit.
Those who were able to pass the physical part of the test had to put pen to paper for the written exam.
“It’s pretty intense. You can tell I am still out of breath,” said Rich Anthony. “You can see people walking out the door behind us; it is still physically challenging for everybody.”
Over 100 recruits passed both physical and written exams.
Authorities say they will now undergo background checks and interviews.
Out of those, the Moore Police Department is looking to hire only five new officers.
